Miguel is very comfortable singing about the art of love making (or having a “Quickie” every now and again), but his second album will go in a different direction. The project, due out later this year, will be a hodgepodge of all of the things that interest the Los Angeles native.  “I think this album is a more honest perspective on my life,” he told Hip-Hop Wired.

Although he can’t yet announce the title, with his “Adorn” single already in rotation, and a music video on the way, the singer is anticipating sharing the new subject matter with fans, and raising the bar from his All I Want Is You  debut. The album sold less than 500,000 copies but spawned hit singles like the tile track, and “Sure Thing,” which has clocked nearly 20 million views on YouTube. “I think I’m really excited to share a more broad perspective of what it is I experience outside of love and sex—which I completely love and enjoy, as you can tell  from my music—but um, it’s exciting to like bring people more into my world.”

The album is due out October 23.
