In an interview with XXL, “6′ 7″” producer Bangladesh discussed how he remained relevant in the industry in comparison to his “irrelevant” peers, which chiefly speaking means Swizz Beatz. Although the man who came into the game as Shondrae provided encouraging words to aspiring producers at the All American Conference, he  didn’t provide the same enthusiasm when describing the career of his  not-so-relevant, in his opinion, counterpart Swizz.

Unsurprisingly, Bangladesh said he was just  “keeping it 100” (just like his single) and said, “I don’t think Swizz is relevant.”  He continued by say the rival producer’s only claim to fame today was his more “popping” wife Alicia Keys who has been the s0-called life preserver of  his career. Ouch.

“You married a lady that’s poppin’ [Alicia Keys], you know it’ll give you a lot of relevance, but you gotta make hits,” said Bangladesh. “Ain’t no hits. Are you relevant for the craft you’re doing or the life you live as far as the decisions you make?”

Bang capped off his interview with more of his stinging insight, and stated that the biggest factor that played a role in his relevancy was his youthfulness. “The relevance is in being youthful,” he said, adding, “Still being in-the-know.  I have a 15 year old son so they think we’re brothers and I put him on to stuff. You know, I’m 34 but people tell me I look 23.  He still look to me for information. Usually it’s the opposite; usually the parents are lame or too old to understand or whatever. Just the way I feel, I got so much more time.”

What do you think of Bangladesh’s thoughts on Swizzy?
