After toying with their fans’ emotions for months, The Niceguys release their long awaited sophomore album James Kelley. The well rounded project was well worth the wait, infusing the boom bap sound of the 90s with that Texas swing and chopped and screwed sound. The project’s line of guest appearances certainly doesn’t hurt, featuring the likes of Houston legends Bun B, Slim Thug and many more.

The four-man group, comprised of MC Yves Saint, DJ Candlestick, and producers Christolph and Free, are a among a new wave of artist who are redefining listeners’ idea of what Houston Hip-Hop sounds like. While the H-Town influence is recognizable in a few tracks and some of Yves Saint’s flows and cadences, the MC’s Queens, NY origin shines throughout the project, making James Kelley a melting pot of styles.
