8 Years Later: Raekwon & Ghostface Killah Speak On ODB’s Death [PHOTOS]
Today marks the eight year anniversary of the death of Wu-Tang member Ol’ Dirty B-stard.
“Today I just want to have a day of prayer to let my brother know I am thinking about him,” said Rae. “This still hits me real hard. I will mourn over him today and think about how much he taught me.”
Ghostface however doesn’t look at the anniversary as a call for sadness. “I never dwell on the day we lost him, I just celebrate the times I had with him.
“I pray and thank God on this day because he is my angel … I spent the day just sitting quietly and praying. Dirt wouldnt want us mourning, so I don’t.”
Born, Russell Tyrone Jones, ODB collapsed two days before his birthday, while at RZA’s recording studio in New York City. He was pronounced dead thirty minutes later.
An autopsy report concluded that the New York native died from an accidental drug overdose brought on by a lethal mixture of cocaine and the prescription pain reliever, Tramadol.
