Trinidad James hears mumblings of him being a “one-hit wonder,” but he’s not concerned with the title. Gaining success off of one song (“All Gold Everything”), and signing a deal with Def Jam for an alleged $2 million, can bring the haters out the woodworks, and James understands their skepticism.

“Honestly I can see why somebody would say [that I’m a one-hit wonder],” he tells Hip-Hop Wired. “‘All Good Everything’ has done phenomenal, and that was before I signed. Now I’m signed it’s probably just going to do better. It’s not my fault!”

James has yet to announce plans to work on a full-length project, and for now he’s just soaking up all the praise, the mixed reviews, and everything in between.

It remains to be seen whether or not he will be able to transition his online buzz into longevity, but until then, he’d rather enjoy the ride. “Just in general I’m just doing my thing man.”
