Rihanna is enveloped with the spirit of giving donating a whopping $1.75 million to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados.

The 24-year-old gave the money to the hospital’s radiotherapy department, in honor of her late grandmother Clara “Dolly” Braithwaite, who passed away in June. The area of the hospital has been renamed the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, while the funding will pay for necessary medical equipment.

After her grandmother’s death, the Bajan superstar got an Egyptian tattoo underneath of her breast as a tribute to Dolly.

Rih, her mother and grandmother’s husband, visited the hospital Saturday (Dec. 22). “This is my way of giving back to Barbados in the form of philanthropy,” she said in a statement. “By assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program…I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives, or at least extend them.”

Currently on vacation in Barbados, Rihanna and her team have been staying in a $9,000 a night private villa.
