Eve To Debut New Song In Partnership With Big Brothers Big Sisters Mentoring Program

Eve is honoring National Mentoring Month by partnering with the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization, and will debut the single “Make It On Our Own,” on January 22.

The Philly native is billed to take part in the exclusive “hip-hop homecoming” event, to be held in Washington D.C.

Taking place at the Marriott Mayflower Renaissance hotel from 6-8 p.m., the first-time National Mentoring Month event will be aimed at discussing how mentoring helps at-risk youth overcome adversity on the road to success. A VIP pre-event reception will be held the night before, while a reception sponsored by Lifetime TV will recognize Big Brothers Big Sisters alumni, and host of the network’s show  Teen Trouble, Josh Shipp.

As the country’s largest donor and volunteer supporting monitoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters works to achieve measurable outcomes like educational success, and instilling greater confidence in its members. With 350 agencies across the country, Big Brothers Big Sisters serves nearly 630,000 children, volunteers and families.

In addition to Eve, Miss American 2012 Laura Kaeppeler, whose father was incarcerated when she was a teenager, plus former Little Brother and two-time Super Bowl champ, Darrin Smith will also be in attendance.
