Carmelo Anthony – Playing For The City That Made Me: Ep. 2 [VIDEO]

“You can be made here, or you can be broken,” here says Nas in the second part of Carmelo Anthony’s Playing For The City That Made Me documentary. The second episode of the three part series here finds Melo and interview subjects like Bernard King, his brother Justice and his stylist talking about how the New York Knicks is starting to thrive now that he’s back playing for his hometown team.

Talking to King, Melo admitted that he wasn’t trying to wear a suit to every game like the legend did. ““I never wanted to wear a suit, never wanted to dress up.  It was always jeans, sneakers, t-shirt, cap,” says Melo, who goes on to admit that the NBA dress code probably had him in mind (see: Allen Iverson) when it was instituted. “I don’t want to say it…but I was probably one of the reasons they actually changed the NBA dress code.” he added.

This past Sunday in NYC, Melo hosted a launch of his latest signature shoe, the MELO M9. Anthony invited hundreds of kids to the “Lock & Load” event, which featured a basketball court in the middle of Cipriani in downtown NYC and performances from French Montana and Fabolous.

Watch Carmelo Anthony discuss dealing with his critics, and actually listening to them, in part two of Playing For The City That Made Me below.
