Nas Says Life Is Good Isn't A “Classic”…Yet [VIDEO]
Nas is a humble dude. His Life Is Good album received mostly positive reviews across the music board, and he's been lauded as the greatest lyricist of all time by CNN, but he's not quite ready to call his latest release a “classic.”
In an interview with MTV News, the Queens native explained why he's not so quick to give the album such a big stamp of approval, but if everyone else does, he's fine with it. “It's cool, you can call my record a classic, I'm not tripping.” he said. “ Time will really make me feel it or not, and then if a year from now, another two years from now, I really feel like it's a classic and no one else does, I'm gonna' make noise! I'm gonnna' complain! I'm gonna' campaign for that title.”
Released in July, Life Is Good debuted atop the Billboard charts selling 139,000 copies in its first week. As of November the album has sold 333,000 copies.
Over the summer Nas embarked on an international tour in promotion of the release, and rang in 2013 with a concert at New York City's Radio City Music Hall.
