Two men, one disguised as a UPS worker, brazenly performed an armed robbery at a Harlem apartment a little over a week ago and made off with $40,000.
The New York Post reports that the suspect was dressed in a brown vest, brown hat and button-down shirt typical of your friendly neighborhood UPS worker when he knocked on the victim’s door in a building near 133rd Street at around 10:30 a.m. March 11, according to NYPD. When the door was opened, the faux-UPS worker and his accomplice flashed guns and stormed into the residence.
When all was said and done, and after tying up the three people in the apartment, the bandits made off with $28,000 from the safe, $12,000 from a dresser and $500 from one of the victim’s pockets.
Who keeps this sort of cash in their crib, in Harlem? Sounds like a local drug dealer got caught slippin’.
The robbers fled the scene in a silver Nissan Quest and are said to be in their 20s and between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall. Check out footage of two fleeing the scene after their heist in the video below.
