Dr. Dre Is "Inspired" To Do Music Again, Says New Eminem Album Is Almost Done [LISTEN]
Dr. Dre fans have wondered if the long-rumored Detox album will ever see the light of the day, and he hinted at the faint possibility of a release during an interview this morning. Dre called in to Power 106 program Big Boy's Neighborhood, announcing that co-host Fuzzy Fantabulous will leave the program to assist in a Beats By Dre-related product assumed to be the “Daisy” service.
After striking it big with the Beats By Dre product line, it appears hopeful that the famed Compton producer will make good on his promise. Much like the release of Detox, Dre was vague in explaining the new "Daisy" venture. "The most I can say right now is that it's a music subscription service,” he shared. Dre's new partner echoed the sentiment, dancing around host Big Boy's questions about the business.
Speaking of music, Dre confirmed that his Aftermath label superstar Eminem is back in the lab and nearing the end of a new project. But what turned heads was Dre saying he's caught the itch to get back in the studio after working heavily with Kendrick Lamar and his acclaimed good kid m.A.A.d city album. “"For me, I've just got inspired to go in the studio again,” said Dre briefly.
Stating that music is his “first love,” it remains to be seen if Dr. Dre will step down from his throne of cash and drop his final opus. Listen to the interview below.
