Iyanla Vanzant doesn’t scare easily. As was previously reported, the upcoming season premiere of her Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network series, Iyanla: Fix My Life features beleaguered rapper, DMX. With the show airing tomorrow (April 13), a series of trailers hit the Web revealing a new side to the Yonkers rapper. However, Vanzant turned things up a touch by asking Dark Man X if he was high on the program.

Vanzant met with DMX more than once on the show, and the clip of their first encounter took place in a recording studio.  Things got emotional when Vanzant asked X how many times he’s been arrested. After telling her that he’s been knocked 30 times, the “Get At Me Dog” rapper broke down explaining how jail has affected him. “I was institutionalized, my mother put me in at [age] seven,” said DMX. “I enjoyed it. Being in institutions, I got three meals, clothes.”

Vanzant dug in, after learning that while jail didn’t bother him, the rejection from his mother still hurts to this day. “Everybody wants their mother to want them, that’s all that was,” added X. “In one breath, I would be momma’s little man, the man of the house. In the next breath, I’m a hard-headed kid. A hard-headed kid that ain’t gonna be sh-t.”

Things get even more serious when Vanzant asks X if he was under the influence of drugs. Later clips show the two arguing after X reunites with his son, Xavier.

Tune in to OWN for season premiere of the second season Iyanla: Fix My Life airs this Saturday, April 13 at 10 p.m. ET.
