DeSean Jackson Signs With Redskins Amid Gang Allegations [PHOTOS]
The NFL and the NFC East just got a whole lot more interesting now that DeSean Jackson is suiting up with his former division rival the Washington Redskins.
The Pro Bowl wide receiver was abruptly released from the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday, March 25 after a report that he was a member of a Los Angeles Crips street gang spread like wildfire across the Internet.
Realizing the new chink in the armor, the Redskins signed Jackson for a reported $32M deal that voids to 3 years, $24 with a $5M signing bonus and $8M average per year, as reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Robert Griffin III just became a much happier quarterback — and the NFC East just got a lot more interesting.
The news broke late Tuesday when Jackson’s publicist sent this tweet, following two days of meeting with coaches and officials.
Jackson set career highs in 2013 with 82 catches, 1,332 yards and 9 TDs receiving in his first season in Eagles head coach Chip Kelly’s high-powered offense. But player and coach reportedly had a personality clash, which some speculate was the primary reason for his release.
The Redskins finished with the worst record in the NFC last season at 3-13 and do not have a first-round pick in the upcoming draft — they traded it to the Rams two offseasons ago as part of the deal that landed them the pick used to draft RG3. The team and new head coach Jay Gruden had been looking for a versatile threat to add to an offense that includes Griffin III, Garcon, Andre Roberts, Jordan Reed and Alfred Morris.
Jackson becomes the second player the Redskins have lured from an NFC East rival this offseason. Defensive lineman Jason Hatcher signed with Washington after eight seasons with the Dallas Cowboys.
Needless to say, Jackson was a very happy camper. “ITS GOIN DOWN !! BURGUNDY & GOLD,” he exclaimed on all his social media accounts. He was also greeted with open arms by teammates Ryan Clark, DeAngelo Hall and Pierre Garcon.
