Tonight (July 20) in Las Vegas, Jordan Brand officially unveiled the Air Jordan XXXI. Michael Jordan’s latest signature sneaker is the first Jordan sneaker to feature a Nike Swoosh since the Air Jordan 1.
The Air Jordan XXXI also features an all-new Flyweave and leather upper and the OG Air Jordan “Wings” logo. For no. 31, MJ went for low profile cushioning via FlightSpeed tech that features full-length Zoom Air unit to “enhance court feel, responsiveness and lateral support.”
The launch colorway is an ode to the infamous Air Jordan 1 “Banned” (which is also getting a retro).
The story goes the NBA banned the red and black colorway and fine mike $5000 every game he wore them, which Nike covered, and flipped into a commercial.
The Air Jordan 31 “Banned” will be available worldwide Sept. 3. Check out detailed photos of the Air Jordan 31 below and on the following pages.
