Omari Hardwick as Ghost in Power

Omari Hardwick and Lela Loren are fine actors, so referring to them as Jaime and Angela, is a testament to their work on Starz hits drama series Power. Season 4 kicks off Sunday, June 25, and the tortured TV couple recently discussed the new season.

Mild spoilers ahead...

At the end of last season, Angela arrest James St. Patrick, the drug kingpin known as Ghost. Ironically, many fans considered her a traitor for, ya know, doing her character’s job.

“Lela said today that a viewer slash and or a journalist’s barometer of self-accountability is called to question when they think that Angela is this dark and bad person for arresting Ghost,” Hardwick told Hip-Hop Wired. “If you’re that mad at her then it really is a barometer for you and how you perceive accountability.”

Morals go out the window when you’re really into your favorite show’s characters. Speaking of, Power is the favorite of many considering it is the 2nd most watch series on premium cable, only behind HBO’s Game Of Thrones. But the magnitude of such an audience isn’t weighing on the performance these two actors.

“My task this year, in season 4, was to face that ugly monster called Ghost. Even if he’s beautiful at parts.”

“You just disappear,” said Loren when asked if the show’s accolades affect her performance. “In some ways it’s none of your business when it comes to the work. You do the work and the rest takes care of itself.”
