A couple of weeks ago I got the chance to listen to head down to Atlanta and meet a bright young talent by the name of Saint Nick. The talented kid, by way of South Carolina, is a product of music luminary, Devyne Stephens, who has worked with some of the most talented artists in our culture including Akon, Usher, TLC, and P!nk.

While in the studio with the young rapper I got to see the process behind the making of his newest effort, The Present“I’m not like any of these new guys,” says Nick. “I grew up on Jay-Z, Biggie, Tupac, and those are guys that I still listen to. Those are the guys I aspire to be, and just because I’m from the South doesn’t mean we don’t have lyrics down here.”

With records produced by Swiss Beatz, Fat Boi, Mike Will, and DJ Wiz on his tape, Saint Nick has lyrics to go, I spoke with him while down in Atlanta (after a quick run on the ball court) and this is what he had to say. Hit the jump to check it out.
