Shaquille O’Neal may be one of the greatest to ever step foot on an NBA court but his recent actions prove to be far more heart wrenching than watching him tower over opponents and break backboards. Moved by the horrific murder of 5-year old Shaniya Davis who was sold for sex by her own mother and later murdered, Big Shaq paid for the little angel’s funeral.
Speaking with The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Shaq reached out to the child’s father Bradley Lockhart and asked if there was anything he could do to help the family. He stated,
“I was sitting at home watching it on the news, and the story brought a tear to my eye.”
Over 20,000 people attended the going home service for Shaniya in North Carolina whose body was found on November 16th.
Shaniya’s mother, Antoinette Davis, who had previously reported her daughter missing, is being charged with human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution. Her “friend” Mario McNeill is being charged with kidnap, rape and murder. Have fun in the pen Mario and Antoinette because we hear they love to “welcome” child predatory aficionados such as yourselves.
Thanks for steeping in Shaq as now little Shaniya can finally rest in peace as it looks like she never had the chance while here on Earth.
