Lincoln University has nixed its decision to impose a mandatory fitness program for graduation. As previously reported, the institution was set to enforce a fitness class that, if not taken, would not allow students to graduate from the University.

Nearly 80 students considered obese received e-mails requiring them to take the fitness course or not receive their diploma in the spring. The students who received the e-mails had a body mass index over 30.

Now that the course has been removed from graduation requirements, it will be offered to students after taking a prerequisite course that addresses health issues.

Come on people.

While the effort to promote fitness was valiant, you cannot send overweight students an e-mail asking them to lose weight for graduation. That was just a  lawsuit waiting to happen….smh.

They should’ve known better.
