Another young victim has fallen to the city of Chicago’s thirst for blood.

A 14-year-old teen was gunned down, shot in the head, as he walked with his mother in a Northwestern Chicago neighborhood.

Investigators say that the victim, whom might have been gang affiliated, was approached by a man in his early twenties or late teens, was shot after the two engaged in yelling and flashing gang signs.

The teen was first taken to Advocate Illinois Medical Center and was listed in critical condition at the time. He has since been moved to Children’s Memorial Hospital.

Police believe the shooter was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt and had short hair.
