Taylor Swift used to stalk Young Buck. Before the G-Unit rapper had fallen completely into a financial hole, followed by a nearly two-year prison sentence, and having his personal belongings auctioned off by the IRS, the country star used to ride pass his house in admiration.

Swift reportedly told Vibe magazine that she and her boyfriend were enamored with his digs. “When I was in high school, my boyfriend and I would drive around and he’d always point to this neighborhood where [rapper] Young Buck lived,” she explained. “We would drive and look at his cars and be like, ‘Oh my gawd! Those cars are so cool! I wonder if he’s in there!’”

Buck’s life is of course very different from the way it was when Swift was a high schooler. He was evicted from his Tennessee home, and today resides at Southern Mississippi’s Yazoo City Medium Security Federal Prison, where he is serving 18 months.

Country music was her launching pad, but Swift is a vocal fan of rap. She’s tried her hand at rhyming, and collaborated with B.O.B. for his “Both Of Us” track. She’s also pretty untouchable in the music game. Her latest, Red, debuted atop the Billboard charts selling over a million copies in a week, and has gone triple platinum in less than a month.
