Typhoon Haiyan affected the lives of nearly every individual who were aware of it in some capacity. As the death toll approaches 4000, and thousands more struggle without proper shelter, the mental anguish associated with such a tragedy can be pretty unbearable.
Hip-Hop has been known to rise to the occasion on numerous fronts when it comes to being charitable. A disaster of this magnitude doesn’t qualify for an exception, either.
Because of its heavy Filipino population, California in particular was devastated by the news. And its native rap citizens are stepping up to the plate.
Game has been devoting a lot of time to his Robin Hood Project and he recently aligned his resources with those of professional poker player, Dan Bilzerian’s, AllHipHop reports. Together they were able to raise $10,000 to administer aid to those in need.
Elsewhere, a handful of West Coasters are devoting their stage presence for the hurricane relief. Duos Blu & Exile, TiRon & Ayomari as well as Thurz, NoCando and Anderson Paak are putting together a concert in Los Angeles on November 24. The entry fee is only $5 but donations for access are also approved.
