Anyone who calls themselves a basketball player, or basketball fan, should be aware of the exploits of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. adidas has created a “The Blueprint” version of the popular Crazy 8 basketball sneaker.

The shoe’s powder blue colorway ins’t inspired by Jay Z’s classic album but by the team colors of Jabbar’s alma mater, the UCLA Bruins. The upper is crafted from synthetic suede and features stitching and molded details to honor the OG model while there is also a custom Tyvek tongue patch that shows Kareem’s unstoppable hook-shot and auograph. The former Lew Alcindor’s no. 33 is stitched on the heel and toe of the sneaker, too.
UCLA will be rocking the “The Blueprint” Crazy 8 on Thursday, February 13 when they play the University of Colorado on ESPN. Although the shoe is a limited release, you can snag a pair for for $133 starting February 14 at adidas.com and at adidas in The Quarter in New Orleans over NBA All-Star weekend.
