Brand new NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was faced with career-defining task on what to do with outed racist Donald Sterling in the midst of his Los Angeles Clippers scandal.
With all eyes on his every move, the Commissioner seemingly appeased everywhere by banning Sterling from NBA operations for the rest of his natural life. For those in the dark from the rock that has been keeping you sheltered, the Los Angeles Clippers owner’s former girlfriend V. Stiviano secretly taped him making candid racist remarks about African-Americans that reflected the thought process of modern day slavery.
Almost unanimously, NBA players of past, present and future took their Twitter accounts to applaud the move. The news broke as the Los Angeles Clippers are battling the Golden State Warriors to advance in the 2014 NBA Playoffs and it has been nothing but a distraction. The Clippers had seen several of their big spending endorsers separate themselves from the scandal but now that Sterling is out, business should resume as normal momentarily. A statement was released on the entire organziation’s behalf which read: “We wholeheartedly support and embrace the decision by the NBA and Commissioner Adam Silver today. Now the healing process begins.”
