It’s been a minute since the world has heard from R&B quartet Jagged Edge. They have recently reunited with Jermaine Dupri and of course had plenty of updates during their most recent visit to The Breakfast Club.

Throughout their career Brandon, Brian, Kyle and Richard made a name for their unique brand of Hip-Hop soul. Starting in the late 1990’s the group enjoyed massive success with a constant barrage of radio friendly singles.

But no one can stay on top forever. In the new millennium things got a little muddy for JE with members getting arrested, rumors of financial hardships and fire sales involving sneaker collections. Rightfully so DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne The God asked the questions everyone has been wondering resulting in a very memorable 40 minutes of airtime.

So we present the top 10 things we learned from The Breakfast Club Jagged Edge interview. Let us know your favorite moment in the comments section below.

The Team

While the boys have had their internal problems, they have never broken up. Good to hear this considering even the greatest groups in the recording industry have split.

JD

Jermaine Dupri admitted that it was his arrogance for wanting to exit his label deal from Sony Music that caused the group to stop working with the multi-platinum producer.

The Papes

The group stated that no one in Jagged Edge has ever filed for bankruptcy. They explained that when artists takes a couple years off, they will feel changes to their financial situation regardless of celebrity relevance.

Sneakers

Kyle also admitted that he has since shown more chill in terms of his spending and joked that he only buys one pair of Jordans a year.

R&B

Like many people, the group feels that R&B is watered down but they appreciate what some of the current artists are doing to keep the genre alive.

The Single Life

Ironically only one member of the group is currently married. “Wild” Kyle admitted to even breaking up with a girl on Valentine’s Day. Additionally Jermaine Dupri has sworn off marriage as it doesn’t allow him to be the JD he wants to be.

R&B Thugging

Disregard the braids and tattoos, the group has never owned the R&B thug label. They are just being themselves.

The Chef

We were surprised to learn that Rae’s favorite love song of all time is Jagged Edge’s “I’ll Be.” Additionally Brandon is really good friends with Raekwon.

Sisqo

The boys cleared up the rumors of their beef with Sisqo of Dru Hill. One time Jagged Edge was getting on the elevator and Sisqo was getting off. Apparently Sisqo did not speak to them citing he was half sleep and Kyle said “stay sleep then b*tch!”

Destiny’s Child

The group admitted that the members dated two of the girls of Destiny’s Child. It was made clear one was LaTavia. The other is now married so JE did not name drop. Who do you think they are talking about?
