OG Maco had the audacity to challenge Beyonce at a very early stage in his career so it has long been established that tongue-biting really isn’t in his repertoire.
It all began when Travi$ Scott released his debut album Rodeo’s first single “3500” featuring 2 Chainz, Future and a beat supplied by Metro Boomin. The record’s DNA is more 4-0-4 than The Busy Bee Cafe and the G.O.O.D. Music artist just happens to hail from Houston. While Maco didn’t exactly accuse Travie of misappropriating his hometown’s sound, he did touch on the fact that the formula for garnering awareness wasn’t exactly the most original.
“What’s impressive about an Atlanta record made by a non-Atlanta native, backed by two of the biggest artists and producers? Anyone?,” he posed on Twitter before going on to say. “I’m saying this and I’m a fan of @trvisXX But we gotta draw the line if we’re gonna take the game. We gotta be legendary in our own right.”
In today’s rap climate, anything you use the ultimate public platform and mention another artist’s name, that all but defines the case for a beef. However, the “U Guessed It” star came to his own defenses and admitted he was a fan of Scott as his Twitter mentions began to illuminate. Scott was well aware of the conversation that was brewing but he opted not to divert attention from the song’s iTunes release with a reply, no matter how understanding.
