The #KnicksTape nation probably didn’t clear this one. R&B singer Tyrese will be taking over the New York Knicks’ Twitter handle during today’s game against reigning NBA champs the Miami Heat.

Says KnicksNows, “Make sure to follow @nyknicks to interact with Tyrese during the game. The official hashtag is #TyreseTakeover.”

Now we all, except whoever signed off on this idea, know Tyrese and his Twitter shenanigans are an exercise in struggle. So why the Knicks franchise would choose the Transformers actor with questionable grammar to take over their Twitter account for a couple of hours is baffling to many. Needless to say, the slander has already begun.

“I once watched a Knicks game with my pops and Melo got a bucket and my pops yelled “CARMELVIN!”. Pretty sure Tyrese is gonna top that today,” tweeted @DragonflyJonez.

“Will there be a translator? RT @nyknicks: During the Knicks-Heat matchup, @Tyrese will takeover the Knicks twitter handle,” tweeted @mdotbrown.

“I’d let my cousin take over my twitter page before giving it to Tyrese. It’s cute when 2 year olds don’t know how to spell..not grown men,” tweeted ‏@abiLLionMyles.

“.@nyknicks did you guys study Tyrese’s tweets before agreeing to have him tweet? It’s an embarrassment,” tweeted @mrmess.

“The Heat had to pay off someone for this Tyrese foolishness. But I’m not gonna react…,” tweeted @ILuvakaraoke.

Of course, the “Sweet Lady singer’s tweets won’t have any affect as to what happens on the court, but it will be damn funny to use as ammo if the Knicks don’t compete. The Miami Hear are coming into the Garden sporting 13 game winning streak.
