Remember when going to the strip club was usually kept on the hush? Blame rappers and their videos for the gentleman’s club renaissance. One rapper helping said cause is Meek Mill, who was on hand to make it rain at the newly renovated King Of Diamond’s in Miami.
Also worth noting, Akinyele of “Put It In Ya Mouth” fame is involved in making KOD a hot spot.
The night of April 1st was nothing to fool with once Meek Mill walked in the door surrounded by his MMG entourage. The world renowned King of Diamonds (KOD) Miami Gentlemen’s Club – famous for its buxom beauties and celebrity clientele – kicked off its highly-anticipated reopening with a star-studded celebration including the likes of FloRida and Uncle Luke featuring the most gorgeous prized possessions of KOD.
2500 plus attendees, seven hit songs long all performed by Meek Mill plus Dancer Hosts Mink & Tokyo, a ton of new faces, new bodies and a new state of the art lighting system with LED lights from floor to ceiling, all blue and white upolstry are some of the new public renovations introduced for a classier, s-xier launch event. “Disco” Rick Taylor known as “Mr. KOD” teamed up with longtime friend and well-known businessman Akinyele to pull off their dream of making KOD the largest and most successful strip club in the world. “We’re bringing all of the celebrities back to the club to make it the best its ever been. All the new money! We want the dancers and the people to have fun – to have the best time on earth because this is King of Diamonds,” Akinyele says.
In addition to dynamic duo Disco Rick and Akinyele the two will also work with outstanding management team Terry Elliott and Liz Cedeno to bring a successful star-studded lineup for the grand opening week with “Tuition Tuesdays” hosted by Bow Wow catering to the college crowd, Wednesday night hosted by NFL Super Bowl winner Brian McKinnie with a return appearance by (VH1’s Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta) Joseline Hernandez with a live performance by Young Scooter on Thursday and Jim Jones on Friday. “This week will feel like KOD Memorial Day Weekend here in Miami before the actual holiday – that’s how big this launch will be,” says Disco Rick.
“The owner Terri Galardi believed KOD could be the biggest strip club in the world and I’m excited to be a part of making this happen with Disco Rick and everyone else. It’s always been a dream for us to build this from the ground up,” explains Akinyele.
