Y’all can keep fooling yourselves if you want, but Trinidad Jame$‘s rap skills are basic, at their absolute best. In fact, for most of this XXL Freshman freestyle, dude is not even rhyming.
That said, we gotta ask, who had the better (or worse) XXL freestyle; Trinidad Jame$ or OJ Da Juiceman? For those who can’t recall, the latter’s entry way back in 2010, sounded like one extended ad lib.
Mostly thanks to “All Gold Everything,” which is a monster hit, Trinidad graced the cover of XXL as one of its 2013 Freshman. The book is still out on whether or not the Atlanta rapper, with a nice Def Jam contract, will avoid one hit wonder status. Back in 2010, OJ Da Juiceman was in a similar situation. But, his suspect bars (he rhymed basketball play with, wait for it, basketball playa) pretty much marked the end of his popularity beyond Atlanta and any states it touches on the map.
Peep Trinidad Jame$ freestyle below and OJ Da Juiceman’s infamous 3.5 bar struggle rap on the next page.
Let us know who you think is better in the comments. Of course, if you happen to think they’re nice with the wordplay, please do explain yourself.
