Most didn’t expect Trinidad Jame$ to last this long, but here he remains as one of this year’s XXL Freshman class. Nevertheless, the calm, cool and collected rapper stopped by The Breakfast Club this morning to chop it up with the entertaining trio.

Among the many topics discussed were his straightened mack-like Goldie hairstyle, Rick Ross’s controversial molly lyric, and his relationship with Def Jam since former president Joie “Joey I.E.” Manda parted ways with the label.

The rush of success is still a surprise to Jame$, who spoke on becoming a XXL Freshman. “One of the times when I was in New York, if I’m not mistaken, we happened to go by there and it was pretty much in the talks. I just had to put it in a positive light, and it really happened,” recalled the “Females Welcomed” artist.

Jame$ revealed that he was working on new material, most likely a full project because that’s what he admittedly prefers. Despite this, he’ll forever be known as Mr. “Popped a Molly, I’m Sweatin’,” and because of this The Breakfast Club crew thought it would be only right to ask his take on Rick Ross’s “U.O.E.N.O.” verse.

The Atlanta native kept it real, saying “When you do a song, you listen to it, [and] it’s at least one more person in the room with you when you recording it. That’s that cosign person.” Aside from that response, Jame$ kept it short, but said that Ross is “a grown man.”
