One can’t help but to admire Hip-Hop’s profound affect on global culture. With that, we present a great example originating from Italy that the good folks at Egotripland recently unearthed.
In 2011, an Italian artist by the name of GRADONER GRAPHICS dedicated a stylized series of portraits featuring 14 of Hip-Hop’s fallen MCs. Titled “Tribute To The Kings,” the photos are iconic shots of legends like Jam Master Jay, J. Dilla, Tupac Shakur, and Heavy D.
Each flick received a classic black & white treatment, and includes the government name, date of birth, date of death, and a notable quote from each featured artist.
These could easily find a home in a museum. It’s important that we keep the legacies of these monumental musicians alive.
See a brief statement from GRADONER GRAPHICS below.
This personal project i made, it’s for give a tribute to the kings of hip hop music. All this people, have written the history of hip hop… Hope you enjoy the series and enjoy them if maybe they give to yours something…
