It took long enough, but adidas is finally readying the release of one of its iconic shoes, the Mutumbo. From a business standpoint, this release is a clear result of interest in classic 90sĀ basketball sneakers in the marketplace. But to enthusiasts, this is an opportunity to cop one of the freshest colorways you’ll find on shelves this summer.
The shoe’s high-top silhouette and afrocentric print (inspired by the shoe’s namesake player Dikembe Mutombo) on the upper will undoubtedly turn heads. Consumers will be happy to know that adidas announced a August 24 release date earlier today. This is the first retro ever, by the way.
