For the past few weeks, Guilty Simpson has delivered lyrical marvels from his upcoming Small Professor-produced project Highway Robbery. Today, the duo release their third and final leak, “I’m The City,” featuring Boldy James and Statik Selektah.
This track may be the most menacing of the three, as Simpson and company spit villainous rhymes over a gloomy beat. The Philly beat king sets the mood with haunting chords that inspired bars devoted to the Detroit streets that raised the pair.
One could call this a proper soundtrack for the jux, if that’s the life you live.
