Whether he’s venting or rapping chances are controversy is bound to happen when you put a microphone in front of Kanye West. Things were no different when he sat down with Big Boy’s Neighborhood.

In a live stream interview hosted at Power 106 in Los Angeles, West chopped it up for almost two hours while in town for his Yeezus tour date.

The “Black Skinhead” rapper left very little of his lifestyle untouched as he discussed his most recent adventures as a newly engaged father, explained the need for social media, revealed a newfound disdain for luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton and even freestyled some bars that weren’t terrible.

Like any lengthy Yeezy sit down, this most recent interview produced several noteworthy moments. So therefore we present the top 10 quotes from Kanye West’s visit to Big Boy’s Neighborhood.

On no longer supporting French design house Louis Vuitton:

“If I had the opportunity to design for Louis Vuitton now I wouldn’t because the prices are just too extreme and I don’t want use my message to have like kids save that much to be apart of what the ideas are.”

On his controversial decision to use the confederate flag in his Yeezus tour merch:

“React how you want. Any energy you got is good energy. You know the confederate flag represented slavery in a way — that’s my abstract take on what I know about it. So I made the song ‘New Slaves.’ So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It’s my flag now. Now what are you going to do?”

I just think people look cool in it. They look nice. And it’s colorless also, It’s super hood and super white boy approved at the same time. That’s really what my style has always been.”

On his cultural expectations for mankind:

“People need to understand the true art is the art of life itself. For me I think art should be standard communication. Like good manners; just to have taste.”

On his realistic view of himself as a recording artist but yet egomaniacal expectations of his fashion designer future once he has the proper backing in place.

“I talk a lot of stuff but I’ll never get up here and say I’m the best musician or the best rapper of all time. You know what I’m saying? I would say more like 2Pac is the best rapper of all time. I’ll tell you something in clothing, as soon as I get it Ima be 2Pac.”

On corporate America’s narcolepsy:

“I could sit there with like billionaires all day and then they’ll start talking about ‘they’re working on a new Cirque de Soleil act or they doing this or they doing this that’ but they not seeing me or my level of relevancy. I’m Michael Jordaning people right now. Like the level of relevance to what I do in comparison to anyone else do!”

On his proposal to Kim Kardashian at AT&T Park:

“I gotta apologize to the race of males for turning up so much.”

On his mission of life:

“I ain’t Michael Jackson. I’m not just a musician, I’m a Christian, revolutionary, visionary, products person. I ain’t here to dance for you. I ain’t hear to do a two step. Ten years from now, I just want to create for the church, period. I’ll design the new Sistine Chapel.”

On the paparazzi:

“They help me to influence. At any point, if I want to talk directly to the public, I can use that outlet too. … I should be respected to the highest level at this point for what I’ve been able to accomplish at this age.”

On the design code being in his DNA:

“My perspective—I live in Paris. I have an apartment in Paris. I’ve worked with architects. I had a Claudio Silvestrin space for 10 years now. I was a little Black boy with a Claudio Silvestrin minimalist space on Houston and Mercer. It just so happens that Mercer is basically the core of what streetwear is out in New York. My mom picked my place to be at the top of Fairfax, which happens to be at the core of streetwear out in LA. It’s in my code. It’s written for me to go and take that spot as a new Ralph, a new Marc Jacobs, a new Disney, a new Steve.”

On his upcoming nuptials:

“[The wedding day] is gonna be next summer. I only got two words in my mind as far as ideas for the wedding, that’s: fighter jets.”

On what Yeezus can do for your day:

“I just wanna be that sonic espresso, that sonic cocaine. When you’re on your way to work and you gotta deal with a boss or on a way to an interview, I want you to play that Yeezus and feel like you can do anything.”
