Pharrell is still winning. While most artists plug their clothing lines all the way to end of the next rapper’s punchline, Billionaire Boys Club, Ice Cream and BAPE have kept their focus on the quality of the threads opposed to the cool factor.
To celebrate the 2013 holiday season, the fashion lines associated with GQ’s Hitmaker Of The Year have come full circle for a capsule collection. BAPE, the Japanese brand which had the rare distinction of penetrating American streetwear culture, is currently celebrating their 20th anniversary. The new capsule is billed as a “Collaborative Space Program,” where both BAPE gorilla logos and BBC moon men can be found on the stitching of the shirts.
The BBC/Ice Cream line also is putting in work, unveiling the Fall/Winter line of their brand with plenty of “Wealth Club” hoodies and tees. If any gear was intended to make you feel like a million bucks, Pharrell’s baby would be a suitable contender.
