South Carolina Police are reviewing surveillance footage at a bank after they say a man had the “brilliant” idea to rob it using a fishing rod and hook.
The would-be bank robber used a fishing rod to try to take the bank’s night deposit bags Friday and failed, miserably.
Security cameras show a man outside the bank around 4:00 a.m. that police believe is responsible.
When employees returned to the bank, they found a fishing hook in one bag and the remnants of a fishing line.
They also report to the Times Observance that two more hooks were found in the deposit box along with a putty-like substance that may have been used in lieu of a fishing weight.
No deposit bags were successfully taken.
Police are still on the hunt for the unidentified man.
