Azalea Banks has had an eventful career in the last few years. She started out getting shine for her music and now we mostly only talk about her beefs.
About a week ago, Banks apologized for some of her indiscretions, particularly regarding the LGBTQ community and using a homophobic slur. “It wasn’t nice and it wasn’t fair,” she tweeted. “I hope the entire LGBTQ community will forgive me.”
Banks added, “I sincerely want to apologize to anyone who was hurt by the things I’ve said in the past.”
The atonement tactic didn’t last too long. Banks is back to –some — of her old ways. She rehashed a beef with T.I. (which is really about Iggy Azalea) this morning by slandering his wife’s facial features. The Kang defended his woman’s, honor of course, and now Banks is threatening a lawsuit (yeah, all that.)
After what went down with Tip today she might want to think about a vacation from Twitter, and any other social media outlets tempting her to engage in more Internet thuggery.
While she does that, maybe she can reflect on the ups and down of her career.

High: Signing To Universal
Banks signed to Universal in 2012. She tweeted at the time about joining the label, “God just dealt me a new hand today.”
Low: Begging To Be Dropped From Her Label
Banks begged for someone to buy her out of her label a few months ago. Not sure if she’s still waiting on that to happen.
High: Yeezus Approval
As far as stamps of approval go, you can’t get much higher than Kanye West. Banks was among those commissioned to Hawaii in 2012, to work with West where he recorded My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
Low: Soundcloud Shutdown
Copyright issues ended the life of Banks’s Soundcloud account, or as she put it “2 million followers gone down the drain.”
High: 1991
The EP 1991 dropped in May of 2012, featuring “212” as the lead single. The project notched a No. 12 debt on the Rap Albums charts and entered at No. 17 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Not bad.
Low: Spazzing On Pharrell
Going bad on Pharrell in a public forum isn’t the best idea. For one, he’s pretty well respected in music, and for another, it’s not very professional. Banks flipped on Skateboard P because he was too busy to get in the studio, and let all of Twitter no about it.
High: Accolades
Banks was getting a pretty good amount of positive press before the focus shifted from her music.
Low: Beer Can Backlash
An audience member at her performance in Melbourne last year threw a can of beer at Bank, causing her to cut her whole set. A rep said the can throwing incident made Banks and her band feel “unsafe.”
High: Mermaids
A sold-out crowd came to see Banks perform at her Mermaid Ball in New York City, back in 2012. Banks basically treated fans to a good time with free cotton candy, and a $1,000 costume competition. She also held Balls in L.A. and and London.
Low: Riling Up Rita Ora
Not a good idea, fam. Banks called Ora “thirsty” for trying to get close to her backup dancers. The UK singer wasn’t hearing it. She sent Banks a text message stating the following: “At the end of the day I don’t know who the f*k u think you are secondly u don’t know me I’ve done nothin but try and b nice to u 3rdly ur dancers were talon to me further more ill see ur ass at the motherf*ckin concert.”
