As we have learned time after time paying your taxes are mandatory not optional. Surprisingly some of the Rap community have had a tough time grasping this.

Since the 1990’s Hip-Hop stars have been caught not paying their yearly tributes to Uncle Sam. Some mysteriously have forgotten to pay, others have claimed that crooked accounts have mishandled their finances and a few have gone completely rogue citing that taxes don’t have be paid.

Regardless of the reasoning the federal government has proven time and time again that they will move swiftly on any tax evader with the penalties ranging from large fees to jail time. So we present Hip-Hop’s 14 biggest tax offenders. Who were you surprised by the most? Let us know in the comments section.

1. Busta Rhymes

Busta recently got put on notice by the IRS for neglecting to pay an estimated $790,000 dollars in back taxes.

2. Stevie J.

The Love & Hip Hop curse is real. On top of being spotted on the train, Stebbie got hit with four tax liens totaling $371,000 dollars. No word if his property has been seized yet.

3. Jermaine Dupri

The Atlanta record producer recently got hit with a bill from the IRS totaling $800,000 dollars. Let’s not forget he got his property was seized years ago for a previous tax problem.

4. Nas

Even the God’s Son has had his own problems with the IRS. In 2012 it was made public he reportedly owed 6 million dollars in back taxes.

5. Mary J. Blige

The queen has had her share of problems with the IRS. In 2013 she was hit with a $900,00 dollar tax bill.

6. Master P

The No Limit mogul got served a bill totaling 237K that stems from unpaid taxes from 1999 and 2000.

7. Fat Joe

Joe also has had his own tax problems due to falling victim to a ponzi scheme. He ended up serving four months in jail due to  tax evasion.

8. MC Hammer

Probably the first rapper to face huge financial problems has had to face the IRS again in 2013 with a bill over $800,00 owed in back taxes.

9. Dame Dash

In what seems to be a never ending laundry list of Dash’s financial troubles, the former Roc-A-Fella Records CEO was served a whopping 2.8 million dollar IRS bill.

10. Snoop Dogg

Even Snoop has had his shares of tax problems with liens from 2009 and 2011 adding up to a whopping $546,000 dollars.

12. Lauryn Hill

Mrs. Hill infamously served three months in jail for tax evasion. Surprisingly she got hit with some additional tax liens totaling 867K earlier this year.

13. Swizz Beatz

The mega producer had some tax liens come his way in 2011 that came up to 2.6 million dollars.

14. Beanie Sigel

Beans has had problems catching up to his tax commitments. In fact he was sentenced to two years for tax evasion in 2012.
