There’s a whole group of music acts from the ’90s that Lifetime could really make a killing depicting the lives of.

They don’t have to start and stop with Aaliyah, or only pick singers that have tragically passed on. However, the biopic is good example of how quickly that network can throw a film together. Also, remember the two actors that got cast to play Missy Elliott and Timbaland? Lifetime clearly gives no f*cks about making things believable, so Hip-Hop Wired decided to give them a little help if they’re looking to develop more movies on ’90s music stars.

Total
Surely, somebody wants to know what happened to this Kima, Keisha, and Pam. No?
SWV
Fans see SWV’s struggle in reality show form on WE TV, but maybe a throwback movie about how they got to this point would make a good Lifetime flick.
D’Angelo
Not that he’d ever allow it, but a movie on D’Angelo could really be good. Especially his post-“How Does It Feel” days.
Jodeci
K-Ci & JoJo’s addiction struggles have already been well documented, why not add in Mr. Dalvin and Devante to a made-for-TV-movie script?
Guy
Based on Teddy Riley alone, a movie about Guy could hold our interest for at least 90 minutes.
Heavy D
The story of the late overweight lover deserves a little screen time.
Toni Braxton
Tony Braxton has been through a lot what with bankruptcy and such. There’s lots of ups and downs that would be pretty interesting in movie form.
Dru Hill
How about a look into the world of Dru Hull? How they came together, Sisqo’s “thong song” revolution, that time Nokio’s hair betrayed him… all good movie stuff.
Janet Jackson
Should Miss Jackson have a mini-movie about her life (thus far)? She is a Jackson after all.
Faith Evans
There’s no doubt that a Faith Evans movie wouldn’t be good, and not just from the Biggie perspective. Evans was a big deal in R&B over a decade ago, then there’s the cocaine bust thing, and her second marriage. Her life already reads like a movie.
** BONUS ***
DMX
Would it be interesting to see a movie on DMX, or do we already know enough? We’re still on the fence.
