An former president’s assassination made Olivia Pope fall for the oakie doke on last night’s (Oct. 31) episode for Scandal. For a woman who’s so smart, she’s pretty gullible.

Former President Cooper was assassinated by a man who claimed he was innocent. Too bad that was a lie. Liv took him on as a client, and even went so far as to run a ballistics test on the bullet (still lodged inside President Cooper’s body) to potentially prove her client innocent.

In the end, Liv learned that he wanted nothing more than to go down in history as one of the famed presidential assassins, and she fell for his schtick hook line and sinker.

Here’s the “shocker” though, that assassination wasn’t even the biggest part of the episode, it was Fitz acting like a pansy when Liv said she’d maybe consider being with him again.

Hit the flip for more highlights.

Backwards Hustle

Cyrus is doing the whole “sleeping with a paid whore” thing all the way wrong. It looks like he’s falling in love. Smh.

BFFs

Mellie finally found someone who understands her: another former first lady. President Cooper’s wife really put things in perspective for Mellie. She should be lucky her husband is only cheating with one mistress (this Cooper guy was banging everybody back when he was president).

Dr. Phil

Papa Pope’s played life coach to Fitz. He basically schooled him on game: “Don’t let love cloud your judgement. “

The Struggle

Things aren’t looking good for Jake. He didn’t kill the president’s son but he’s getting his a** whopped behind bars. Prison is taking a tole but at least Liv is trying to save him.

Hope Floats

Liv admits to Fitz that there’s “hope” for their relationship. Guess he’s gonna have to divorce his wife at some point.

Game Time

Huck figured out a way to connect with his son. He’s pretending to be a child playing video games against him.

Verbal Renegade

Abby tried to give destroy Fitz with her words, and to remind him that he’s playing with Liv’s heart. Her approach would’ve been much more interesting, had he remember her name.

Notice Me

This is they guy who wants everyone to know that he assassinated a president. That’s not exactly the kind of recognition anyone should aspire to receive.

Shade & Swim

Papa Pope told Liv to slow her role with sleeping with two dudes, and getting all up in their  business. She reminded him that she has some connects of her own, and then politely swam away.
