The NYPD continues to flourish when it comes to showing poor taste. During today’s (Jan. 4) funeral for slain officer Wenjian Liu, cops once again turned their back on NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio as he spoke.
This is despite Commissioner Bratton sending out a memo urging officers not to participate in such behavior.
“I understand that emotions are high. I issue no mandates, and I make no threats of discipline, but I remind you that when you don the uniform of this department, you are bound by the tradition, honor and decency that go with it,” read part of Bratton’s statement.
How many jobs do you know of where you can blatantly disregard your bosses orders?
To their credit, cops at Liu’s wake yesterday actually saluted De Blasio.
