She has a twin sister, named Jazz. They once made up the singing group Black Buddafly along with their older sister, Sophie.

Black Buddafly signed a record deal in 1997 and released one single, titled “Choyce.”
Jump Around
Amina and her sisters moved to New York in 2002, with $600 in pocket. Although they signed deals with Def Jam and J Records, the group disbanded after one of her sisters got pregnant.
