Today, June 16th 2010, would have been Tupac Amaru Shakur’s 39th birthday.

Before losing his life on September 13, 1996 the West Coast emcee spanned a career that brought together poetic wordplay and a knack for storytelling to Hip-Hop music.

With over 75 million albums sold worldwide, a penchant for acting and the arts and a starring role in the notorious East Coast/West Coast beef, Pac is remembered and revered as nothing short of a rap legend.

In celebration of his birthday, a number of Hip-Hop artists will unite today in his honor including Too Short, Bun B, Rick Ross, Roscoe Dash, Pill and his old group; The Outlawz at Stone Mountain park in Georgia.

His mother Afeni Shakur and comedian Mike Epps will host the second annual Tupac Amaru Shakur birthday celebration and benefit concert.

The rap acts will hit the stage to commemorate the rap legend and money raised will benefit the center erected in his memory.

Doors open for the event at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m.
