Rick Ross, Mannie Fresh, songwriter Ester Dean and more were featured on BMI’s annual ‘How I Wrote That Song’ panel. The pre-GRAMMY event went down at 1Oak on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Broadcast Music, Inc.® (BMI®), a global leader in music rights management, held its annual pre-GRAMMY event, “How I Wrote That Song,” on February 7 at 1Oak in West Hollywood. The list of illustrious panelists included GRAMMY-nominated hip-hop magnate Rick Ross, GRAMMY-nominated scribe Ester Dean, GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter & producer David Hodges, multiplatinum, GRAMMY-nominated producer Mannie Fresh and country music’s number-one-hit wordsmith Natalie Hemby.Moderated by BMI Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations, Atlanta, Catherine Brewton, panelists shared their secrets to success in the process of writing, producing and performing hit songs. Each panelist also revealed the personal stories behind their greatest and most memorable hits.
