Who would have thought that a robber would become the victim after a robbery attempt on Will Smith’s business partner Charles “Charlie Mack” Alston.

Armed and “dangerous”, the robber would learn a lesson the hard way after being overpowered by Alston after trying to take his money at a West Philly gas station last Friday.

Speaking on the altercation with The Philadelphia Daily News, Alston reported the fateful night of the “assailant” after he had a gun jammed into his side while talking to his daughter over the phone.

“I already got two thoughts in my mind: That this dude is not going to let me leave if he gets the money, He’s going to shoot me.  And, I’m not going to let him leave.”

Already having the mentality that he could possibly lose his life, Alston acted quickly in disarming the robber and forced him to the ground, which couldn’t have been too much of a hassle as he was eight inches taller and almost 80 pounds heavier.

Police stated that the crook left quickly after he lost control of his gun.  Funny enough, he allegedly screamed for help and bit Mack’s hand to get away, according to Alston.

“I guess he felt like he had the upper hand because he had a gun.”

Surprisingly, Alston showed some sympathy for the robber, who was able to make off with almost $3,000.

“We never know what the circumstance is,” Mack said. “He could be a bad seed, or trying to feed his seed. To me, it’s sad.”

The relationship of Smith and Alston has resulted in a number of business ventures together in the entertainment and film industry.  Smith paid direct tribute to Charlie Mack on the song “Charlie Mack (1st Out the Limo)” on the hit 1988 album He’s the DJ, I’m the Rapper.

Alston holds an annual Party For Peace Celebrity Weekend, which has been a staple event in the Summer in Philadelphia for at least the past decade.  This years event will take place from July 23rd-25th.
