Remember when Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” artwork broke the Internet? Well now it’s breaking international religion.
The Helsinki Cathedral in Finland just so happened to become a promotional vehicle for Summer Up Tapahtumat, reportedly the country’s “biggest festival dedicated to urban music.” Festival director Martin Mustonen wanted to make a splash this year with raising awareness for the shindig, so he came up with the bright idea to use the infamous pose of Nicki and her “assets” squatting in a pair of Jordans as the birdie. The end result the Finland cathedral being plastered with thousands of cardboard cutouts of the “Anaconda” artwork. To add on to the spectacle, a contest was launched where fans could win tickets if they could locate them pinned on the cheeks of the female rap megastar.
According to The Mirror, Mustonen said he meant no disrespect to the church and only wanted to create “positive wonderment” around the festival as the July 3-4 dates approach. The Barbz is scheduled to be the event’s main act and it was also mark her first time performing in Finland. Rae Sremmurd will be in the building as well.
