Lil Wayne was performing at KMEL’s annual Summer Jam when he made one hell of an announcement. According to the Cash Money rapper, he has signed a deal with Jay Z.
“I just signed a deal with my motherf*cking idol Jay Z,” said Weezy from Oracle Arena stage las night (June 13). That’s about all the details anyone has so far.
It’s a safe bet Weezy is still contractually obligated to record for Cash Money Records—thus why Tha Carter V is still in limbo. So if he did sign a deal with Hova, it would be a to be manage by Roc Nation. If that’s the case, he will be joining a roster that included Rihanna, Kanye West, Big Sean , Fabolous and many more.
The story goes that back in 2013 Jay Z wanted to sign Wayne to Roc-a-fella. But when Birdman got word, he got his “son” to stay by offering him a label, and Young Money was born.
Or, it could be something directly with TIDAL.
