At its core #BlackLivesMatter isn’t merely an issue about race; it cuts at the core of the same principles addressed by any social justice movement.

Kim Kardashian
Given that she’s perceived to be superficial and shallow, it came as a bit of a shock to see Kimmy Cakes tweeting about Sandra Bland on July 23 using the hashtag #massivecoverup. Maybe what they say about judging a book by its voluptuous cover is true.
Lena Dunham
Dunham self-identifies as a feminist, so it doesn’t come as a surprise to see her keeping the memory of Michael Brown alive and interviewing Sandra Bland’s mentor Chenai Okammor in the name of equality.
Stephen Colbert
The Sly Fox tried to stir up some controversy about Colbert rocking “Black Lives Matter” bracelets on air. Perhaps they forgot they regularly cut checks to race baiters like Geraldo Rivera, Stacey Dash, and Bill O’Reilly.
Elizabeth Warren
After her recent, powerful speech on racial inequality and police violence at the Kennedy Center, it feels like Senator Warren could run for President and swing the black vote.
Bernie Sanders
A lot of folks were justifiably not feeling the Vermont senator waffle on meeting with #BLM officials. But his plans on addressing racial discrimination within the criminal justice system are a direct result of recent protests…even the ones that bumrushed his campaign speech.
Matt McGorry
We’re 100% here for the Orange Is The New Black actor after he succinctly and accurately broke down why people talking that #AllLivesMatter ish need to go have several seats via a series of tweets in July.
Hillary Clinton
One of the most effective ways to change negative attitudes steeped in decades of racism is real talk. Leaked videos of Hillary Clinton’s extremely candid conversation with members of #BlackLivesMatter provide just that. Sometimes the video was downright uncomfortable to watch, but given the current state of race relations, maybe too many people have gotten too comfortable.
Ken Burns
The man infamous for Jazz and baseball on PBS and bringing his own video transition to iMovie gave it to the 2015 graduating class at Washington University straight with no chaser via a “mic drop moment” in his commencement speech declaring, “Black lives matter.”
Rachel Dolezal
Maybe the real question is if the passing, former NAACP leader did more harm than help by pretending to be black and lying about it. But before her whole Soul Man moment, she was definitely supporting #BlackLivesMatter.
Marco Rubio
Thus far, Rubio has been the only Republican with enough stones to even admit there are huge disparities between blacks and other races in the U.S. criminal justice and education systems. That’s important to remember when you’re voting next November.
Chrissy Teigen
Thirst trapping by day, and secretly helping provide resources for #BlackLivesMatter protestors by night…even if it’s in the form of providing food trucks for Eric Garner protestors in NYC.
