The one and only Patti LaBelle stepped into The Breakfast Club arena today (November 23) fresh off the fever her sweet potato pies have been causing in Walmarts across the country.
Possessing the wit and pizzaz of a music legend, Ms. Patti answered every question thrown her way with grace and elegance. Check out the highlights from the hilarious interview below.

Pie Drought
The reason for the slow restock in Walmart is the lack of specific sweet potatoes the factory needs to get the sweet treats on the shelves (they need 20 million to be exact). Ms. Patti says she even reached out to Oprah for the hookup.

Been Cooking Longer Than You’ve Been Living
LaBelle says she has sixty years of cooking experience and she’s only 71-years-young. That pie recipe is her own.
Medical History
Ms. Patti is a survivor seeing that all three of her sisters died before the age of 44 due to cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and her mother to diabetes. Pies be damned; she goes to the extra mile to ensure her health.

You’ll never catch Patti LaBelle on the cover of tabloid looking a hot mess. She tells The Club how no matter the time or place, she makes sure she’s looking glamorous because it’s part of her ritual.
Patti 1738
When asked about newer artists of the generation, Patti LaBelle expressed her fandom of Fetty Wap and said she would be down to a collaboration with him and others. As long as the record is “age appropriate.”

Old Fashioned
The Instagram/Snapchat area has been lost on the legendary soul singer. She possesses a flip phone that allegedly cost $15.
Let’s Not Get It Twisted
This is still Patti LaBelle we’re talking about. With more than fifty million records sold, Grammy Hall of Fame, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Apollo Theater Hall of Fame and the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame inductions, she ranks the pie business at a strong #10 in her career achievements.
