Perdue Farms is recalling over 90,000 pounds of chicken nuggets now that the company believes the food could contain hazardous materials.

The chicken producers issued the recall today for 91,872 pounds of “Great Value” chicken nuggets available at Walmart stores nationwide.

The company says the nuggets which are in 50,688 packages in total could contain pieces of plastic because a small blue plastic ring got into the raw material before the nuggets were formed.

The possibly contaminated chicken has a “best if used by date” of June 9, 2011 and on the back of the packages are the numbers 89008A, 0160 and P-33944.

Customers can take the nuggets back to Wal-mart for a full refund.
