Giving back is always good for the soul, both for the giver and the recipient. Media and entertainment mogul Karen Civil must be familiar with the feeling as she recently donated 20 computers to open the ‘Live Civil Computer Lab’ at House Of Hope Orphanage in Titanyen, Haiti.

Knowing that with changing times, kids need access to new educational tools, Karen felt compelled to do her part and took it upon herself to begin to make a difference.

In 2017, all students must have access to computers and other updated technology. It impacts the speed in which they can complete their homework, how quickly they can access information online, and improve their typing and reading skills. I want them to be given the same opportunity other educated youth are given in different countries. I’m grateful to Jack Brewer for helping make this lab come to life!

The former VP of Marketing at Beats By Dre Omar Johnson got in on the spirit of giving and donated a set of headphones to go with each computer while Vans contributed by blessing each of the school’s students with a new pair of kicks.

Now that the former social consultant for Hillary Clinton has followed through on her vision of making a difference, let’s hope that her actions inspire her peers to try their hand at helping the next generation be better prepared for the world.
